Maintenance of CCTV cameras is important. Many owners have got their investment burned in CCTV because of lack in Maintenance.
We in Media Xch believe that maintenance is essential for a lasting CCTV.

A CCTV system without will give away faster because

1. Never check the dust accumulate in the DVR hence one day it heats up the component in the DVR and Fail.
2. No regular check of the Hard Disk in the DVR or NVR. We have experience that customer was shock that they are unable to download the evidence due to hard disk failure. This makes the whole investment wasted when the system fail at the time that you need it the most.  
3. Cable termination. Old cables can get oxidised so its is recommended that it is re terminated for a better video quality.
4. One fail lead to another, In Malaysia CCTV systems are vulnerable to lightning and surge. At many times the has been over looked in term of Lightning protection. Many customer wonder why the system was working fine a year or two and start giving problem after that. If you analize the system is connected to ground zero so that the excessive power can be grounded but in many cases the ground ressitance will increase making the CCTV system expose to more lightning problem.

CCTV maintenance service included

Check history of CCTV system since last maintenance service
Visual inspection of all major CCTV components including cabling & connections where accessible for signs of deterioration or damage
Check all CCTV control equipment (monitors, VCR, DVR, Multiplexer etc.)
Check and clean cameras, lenses and housings as necessary.
Check lenses for correct field of view and adjust as necessary
Check pictures for correct field of view and adjust as necessary.
Check and test remote signalling equipment (where fitted)
Check recording and playback quality
Check the satisfactory transmission of images to remote centre (where applicable)
Repair minor faults where necessary (additional costs may apply)
Retrain the users on the use of the CCTV system (if required)
Log all test results
Return the CCTV system to operational status.
